Host.net Launches Channel Program for Cloud Computing Services, Meeting Business Demand for Reduced IT Spending & Downtime Risk
Generates New Revenue Streams with No Partner Investment; Private Labeling Available
LAS VEGAS (March 1, 2010) – Host.net today announced a partner program enabling data centers, VARs and telecommunications agents to sell cloud computing-based Virtual Private Data Centers (vPDCs) that dramatically reduce clients’ IT spending, strengthen data protection, facilitate regulatory compliance and provide 100% uptime. All infrastructure, 24x7 monitoring and security functions are handled by Host.net, enabling partners to generate new service revenues with no capital or personnel investment.
Participating channel members can offer their clients instant access to terabytes of storage, a typical 80% reduction in physical server needs, immediate availability of data backups, rapid disaster recovery and more through Host.net’s virtualization technology. Clients’ virtual systems can be deployed in minutes at Host.net data centers with no drain on partners’ IT resources.
A private label option is available for partners who wish to use their own branding, and tiered incentives are offered for volume sales.
“Every business today is coping with shrinking budgets, rising regulatory demands and the ongoing need for increased computing resources. The market is moving to virtual infrastructure because of the cost and continuity advantages,” said Skip St. Pierre, Director, Channel Development for Host.net. “This demand translates into lucrative revenue opportunities for our channel partners.”
Host.net’s custom-built, multi-million-dollar vPDC platform and more than 10 years of virtual computing experience also give channel partners key performance, high availability and data protection capabilities not available from any other provider. These include:
- Embedded virtual security services that help address the data protection requirements of regulations such as PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard), HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley).
- Dedicated SANs for each compute cluster to eliminate disk overload, helping to drive 300-500% performance increases over other hosted SAN solutions.
- Full backup of critical business systems to one or more Host.net vPDCs - geographically distributed across Host.net’s Cisco Powered 10G multinational backbone – to provide high availability and near-immediate disaster recovery.
- One-stop virtual system management through Host.net’s v-Gate™ intelligent virtual gateway manager, enabling all virtual servers and resources to be managed through a secure web portal.
Other benefits include SAS 70 Type II and PCI DSS Requirement 9 certifications of Host.net data centers, providing additional data security assurances that are critical for satisfying regulatory mandates.
Host.net will be exhibiting in Booth 1709 at the Channel Partners Conference & Expo that opens today in Las Vegas. For more information, contact Skip St. Pierre (sstpierre@host.net) or call Host.net at 1.877.388.HOST (4678).
